Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station Site Tour on 4 October 2019 - A group of 20 PPN members and guests had a tour of the site, where construction started in the second half of 2016, with the aim to finish work in 2025.  This is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years and will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and create thousands of jobs.

 


Poundbury, Dorset on 10 April 2019 - The Estates Manager at the Duchy of Cornwall gave a fascinating presentation to groups in the morning and afternoon, followed by his commentary and insight as they walked around to see the design approaches, new School and the extended development in Queen Mother's Square....


Spring Golf Day at Tandridge Golf Club on 28 March 2019...


Expert Talk on Regent's Street Disease followed by networking drinks on 6 February 2019 …. Michael Beare from AKS WardLister Beare Consulting and John Pagella, Grandsuperintemdemt of Works at UGLE talked about this problem, a name given to corrosion related damage that occurs in some buildings constructed during the first half of the 20th century using a steel frame embedded with the tight packing of masonry or stone around the frame ... see Recent Events and the Spring 2019 Newsletter for a full review …


Annual Lunch at the House of Lords on 25 January 2019 …. We hope to be able to publish some photos of this event shortly.


Autumn  Golf Day at Denham on 1 November 2018 ....  Despite the rain everyone enjoyed the day, with Andrew Bidgood taking the Members' winning spot, in second was Don Ford and third was Jeremy Mortimer.  The winning Guest was David Henderson, with Richard Godley in second and Peter Marno in third place ...


 Networking Drinks event -  UCEM students, staff and PPN members enjoyed networking at the Institute of Directors ....


Tate Modern Architecture Tour ... we were split into two groups and our guides showed us and explained not only the architecture and design of the new extension but also some of the art!  ....


Glyndebourne Backstage Tour -  A group of 25 members and guests enjoyed a backstage tour at Glyndebourne, one of the finest and most celebrated opera houses in the world...


PPN AGM was followed by a fun wine tasting at Jamies Wine Bar, Ludgate Hill, London ....
