Poundbury is an urban extension to the Dorset county town of Dorchester, built on the principles of architecture and urban planning as advocated by The Prince of Wales in ‘A Vision of Britain’. Its success has been recognised far beyond Dorset and many of the founding principles of Poundbury have now been incorporated into the British Government’s Planning Guidance Note PPG3.
A presentation is to be followed by a tour, and drinks/nibbles for networking opportunity at lunchtime. Limited places available – 2 groups (1 morning tour and 1 afternoon tour), subject to demand.
This visit will be of particular relevance to construction students studying modules focussing on building technology, design and sustainable property management.
